The short version
A working urban farm on a rehabilitated scrap-metal site five minutes from the city: market garden, fruit tree grove, frog bog and resident chickens, with educational signage through the grounds.
Every Saturday morning the courtyard fills with Perth's organic and biodynamic farmers market. Spray-free and organic fruit and veg, organic dairy, wild-caught WA seafood, dry goods, plus low-packaging home and beauty goods from local artisans.
Be Free, the on-site cafe, does farm-to-table breakfast and lunch, and there's a year-round program of workshops.
